1. Identify the tray with the skew issue

c. If the issue happens from both trays (the customer did testing prior to reporting the issue), go to Step 17.

Note: It is not necessary to test both trays.

d. If you are not sure if the issue appears on both trays, perform testing on the tray that currently has the issue. Go to Step 2 for Paper Tray troubleshooting. Go to Step 12 for Manual Feed Slot troubleshooting.

Verify that the media is the correct type, size and weight for Tray 1:

- Paper type Thin Paper, Plain Paper or Recycled Paper.

Verify that the media is the correct type, size and weight for the Manual Feed Slot:

- Paper type: Thin Paper, Plain Paper, Thick Paper, Thicker Paper, Bond Paper, Recycled Paper, Envelopes or Labels.

- Paper Size: Width 3 to 8.66 in. (76.2 to 220 mm)2. Length 4.57 to 16 in. (116.0 to 406.4 mm)2.

- Paper Weight: 16 to 43 lb (60 to 163 g/m2).

- If the media does not meet the requirements for the MP Tray, replace the media and continue to Step 13.

- If the media meets the requirements for the MP Tray, go to Step 13.

13. Load the Manual Feed Slot

Note: The rear cover should be closed for this test. When printing heavier cardstock or labels, we recommend that the rear cover be left open and BOTH envelope levers be placed in the DOWN position to prevent paper feed or print quality issues. If the levers are not in the same positions, the images may skew or other print quality or paper feed issues may occur.
